There are currently seven colors available in the shatter series. Black (also released with Katy Perry and Serena Williams), Silver (released with POTC4), Navy, Blue, Turquoise, Red (also released with Serena Williams), and White (also released with Serena Williams).
As you can see... I couldn't really get blue or turquoise to quite "shatter"!! I re-swatched them around 4 times... and that's the best I could get. ): Someone give me tips! Anyone know how to achieve shatters like this? XD
What do you guys think of the Shatter series? Personally, I was fine with black and silver, but I think it's nice of OPI (and many other companies) to expand their lines to include a large range of colors. I'm not super into the trend, but it does make for a quick and chic mani-on-the-go. My favorite really has to be black and silver... and I quite like white. Anyway, hope you guys enjoy the swatches!

Try thinner coats, that might work. Also, if your formula is thick, you can add some polish thinner. Amanda who runs a blog called Panda Loves Polish tried thinning her shatter and it still worked perfectly.

I tried the silver Shatter that my friend bought. Definitely have to apply thinner coats to correctly see the effect. I have three Crackles from the China Glaze collection, and it works the same way too. Just have to paint on thinner layers :)

I never quite got into the craze of the shatter polishes but you showing them makes me think if i should get at least one basic color. except that i would probably just buy a cheaper korean version.
ReplyDeleteSince I haven't tired it myself, I've only seen ppl do and talk about it. I think it depends on the thickness of the coat (try thin/thick layers) and the underlying polish (some work better in combination w/ some shatters)
i also wonder if exposing it to hot or cold air/heat (w/ blow dryer) would do anything but thats one thing i would try if i were having troubleshooting it
