BoA's 2010 Korean Comeback MV Manicures

Being a k-pop fan, it's really difficult and unheard of to not know who BoA is! And of course, the international superstar has been promoting across seas for quite awhile, leaving behind her home country of South Korea... until this past summer! BoA first released her Korean comeback single, Hurricane Venus, and being a nail junkie AND k-pop fan, I fell in love with the song, and the nails! She followed up her release of Hurricane Venus with GAME, and then promoted a repackaged album featuring the single, Copy & Paste. All the MVs were fantastic, and gosh, her nails. I really want to know who her manicurist is, because I always love her nails! And of course... what naturally follows is that I tried to recreate some of her music video manicure looks. Obviously, they aren't superstar quality, but I had fun wearing some of these manicures. Let's start off with Hurricane Venus. (:

Here's a screen cap of the first look I attempted from the MV.

And my attempt...
Hurricane Venus Look 1

Hurricane Venus Look 1

For this manicure, I used: Zoya - Harley, China Glaze - Liquid Leather, China Glaze - Techno, and OPI - Stars in my Eyes. I couldn't get a super clear and close-up screen cap of all the fingers, so I had to get creative for the thumb. I also added a rhinestone on the ring finger to tie in both my thumb and the glitter on my index finger. I like how several different looks were mixed into this one manicure, and it seems to work. I love that her manicurist paired the glitter gradient with the stripes, I might do that with another manicure sometime in the future.

Here's a screen cap of the second look I attempted from Hurricane Venus.

My try at it...

Here's a list of the many polishes I used to interpret the original: (All shades are from China Glaze) Liquid Leather, White on White, Happy Go Lucky, Light As Air, High Hopes, Peachy Keen, and Flyin' High. I loved how fun and bright this manicure was. It reminds me a bit of something you might see on the streets of Japan... although now that I think about it, wouldn't theirs be a little more extreme? Love it anyhow.

There was at least one more manicure in the 'Hurricane Venus' music video, but I couldn't quite catch it. I'm satisfied with these two though. (:

From BoA's GAME MV, I tried this look.

And my attempt...
GAME look

GAME look

The polishes I used were: China Glaze - Classic Camel, OPI - Banana Bandanna, & China Glaze - Liquid Leather. I really liked the manicure from the 'GAME' MV. It's fun without being too "out there" or funky. I could see myself doing these nails again. (:

And last but not least, I have one look from her repackage single, Copy + Paste.

Taking my stab at it...
Copy + Paste look

Copy + Paste look

For this manicure, I used the following polishes: China Glaze - Liquid Leather, China Glaze - White on White, & OPI - Stars in my Eyes. From the screen cap, I think BoA has rhinestone edging around the black stripes, but I didn't have any stones... so for white I went. Haha. At first, I wasn't really into this manicure, but as I wore it throughout the day, it grew on me! It reminds me of racers/racing, and I think it would make a pretty good manicure for "edgier" gals. (:

So what did you guys think? Like I already mentioned, I want to know who BoA's manicurist is! I love all the manicures in her music videos... if anyone else attempts any of these manicures... let me know! I'd love to see them and share some k-pop love. ^^
